    This history traces the roots of Dorothy June Jepson's Danish ancestry. Dorothy's great grandparents, Jens Jeppesen and Maren Madsdatter, immigrated to Sanpete County, Utah from Denmark in 1862.

      In 1871 Jens moved his family to Salina. The Indians were very troublesome here, stealing their cows and horses. After the Indian scare was over, Jens again moved his family back to Gunnison, where they built a home.
